| CONSTRUCTION CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARDS |
| The function and authority of the various boards (appeals, building, electrical, mechanical/gas, plumbing) include general interpretation of codes, materials used, changes in code and act as liaison between Construction Code Enforcement and the industry. The members of these public bodies are citizens of Shelby County who serve as valuable resources in development and implementation of important policies and projects. |
| The members of most boards are appointed by the mayor's of the city of Memphis and Shelby County and approved by the legislative body. |
